WE MAKE SHOPS LOOK THE PART

Visual merchandising, windows, layout & retail design- from a fresh pair of eyes to the whole shebang.

The Good Stuff

We help shops look dead on. From first impressions and standout displays to practical VM tools and considered store design, we make retail spaces work harder, look better and feel right.

Visual Merchandising
VM Toolkits

From windows to shop floor, we create displays that catch the eye, guide the customer and help shift product.

Clear, practical guides that give your team the confidence to keep things looking dead on- even when we're not there.

Store Design

Thoughtful layouts and store concepts that look the part, flow properly and works hard for the business.

There's a quare bit of retail experience behind The Shape of Ye

No waffle, just who we are

I’ve spent years making shops look the part — from windows and visual merchandising to full store redesigns, layouts, customer journeys, toolkits and training. I’ve worked with some brilliant brands along the way, including IKEA, Topshop/Topman, BHS and Bird & Blend Tea Co., with experience stretching from Belfast to Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

I’ve redesigned stores, led visual teams, trained retailers, created commercial VM toolkits, worked on major store transformations and helped bring new shops to life. I’ve even had a hand in creating an official Moomins retail collaboration — which isn’t something you get to say every day.

The thing I’ve always loved most is taking a space that isn’t quite working and figuring out what would make it feel right. Sometimes that’s a completely new layout. Sometimes it’s a window that needs a bit more theatre. Sometimes it’s simply helping a team understand why first impressions matter.

No waffle. No making things fancy for the sake of it.

Just thoughtful, commercial visual merchandising and store design that helps customers notice more, enjoy the space more — and hopefully buy a wee bit more too.

Basically, I help retail get its shape sorted

Brilliant by design

At The Shape of Ye, we’re thinking about sustainability from the very word go—not just tacking it on at the end like an afterthought

Mindful Materials

Wherever we can, we try to reuse, fix up, and upcycle the gear that’s already there before we go running to replace it with brand new stuff. The old fixtures, furniture, and displays can usually be given a right good lease of life if you just use a bit of wit.

Waste Reduction

When we do need new stuff, we make sure to use decent, handy suppliers and green materials from close by where we can—keeping the carbon footprint down, cutting out the waste, and not having things shipped halfway round the world for no reason.

Right First Time

We're all about making spaces that are built to last, too. That means handy, flexible setups that can grow with your business, so you're not ripping it all out and starting from scratch every time something changes
